Download the template that best suits your needs and gives you the best results
For best results, your graphic should be created at 300 DPI.
The printing surface of the blank dog tags is white. Therefore, any transparent, unfilled, or white areas of
your design will print as white.
The tags are printed using sublimation, which uses an RGB colorspace. So, please use an RGB color palette for creating
your design. Sublimation uses heat-activated inks that change into a gas when heated and permanently bonds
the image to the dog tag, much like a tattoo. However, the heat and dye process may cause slight color variations in the finished
product - this is normal and is to be expected. As a side note - your computer monitor renders images at 72 DPI and has a different colorspace
than printed material. The colors you see on your monitor will always be slightly different when printed on paper.
Which brings us to our next point:
Print you graphic! Print your graphic at the size of an actual DoggTagz.com dog tag - 2" x 1.125". If it looks
jagged, crowded, blurry, or dirty it will look the same on the finished product. Re-work your graphic until you are happy
with the printed result.
Text and/or Lettering: Use a relatively heavy font, such as Benguiat or Arial Black, at a minimum size
of 10 points. Remember, the graphic is being transferred to a small piece of metal, so tiny or thin fonts
may become difficult to read.
Export or save your graphic in bitmapped format. We can support any of the following formats:
BEST - CPT Corel PhotoPaint (.cpt) or PNG Portable Network Graphic (.png) in 24 Bit RGB color. We can also accept CDR CorelDraw (.cdr) files up to version 13.
GOOD - CPT Corel PhotoPaint (.cpt) or PNG Portable Network Graphic (.png) in 8 Bit Paletted color.
OK - TIFF (.tif or .tiff) in uncompressed 24 Bit RGB color (results in large file size), or GIF (.gif) in 8 Bit Paletted color.
MEDIOCRE - BMP (.bmp) - MS Windows Bitmap Format in uncompressed 24 Bit RGB color (results in large file size), or JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) in uncompressed 24 Bit RGB color.
Picture 1 - This is what one of our templates
looks like. It is slightly larger than an actual DoggTagz.com dog tag in order to provide
edge-to-edge printing of the background.
Picture 2 -
The black line shows the actual size of a DoggTagz.com dog tag - 2" x 1.125".
Any portions of your design that overlap this line will be lost in the
printing process.
This is the outer edge of the template. Your background color or
pattern must fill the entire template to ensure edge-to-edge printing of the
finished product
This shows the location of the eyelet (re. hole) on the finished product.
Keep all text/lettering and significant portions of your design at least 1/8" from all edges of the template.
Picture 3 - You can also design your graphic for use with a silencer.
